I am halfway through an expensive "post-bacc" program at a well-respected medical school, and for reasons also had to take a class at the local community college in the spring. The tuition at the community college was about 60% cheaper than the private medical school where I am seeking this post-bacc certificate, and the professor was far better than any I've had in the private program. Should I ditch the private program and complete the remainder of the pre-reqs at the community college? [more inside]
My (Australian) school was recently restructured as a not-for-profit company, with a board and members. The board is elected from among the members, who are the parents of the students. What techniques exist for gracefully balancing the board's duty of accountability with their legitimate concern that members will impose unworkable resolutions at an upcoming AGM? [more inside]

Question for career development specialists and those with experience in project management: In terms of general return on investment/greatest bang for one's buck, is it better to pursue a PMP certification, a master's degree in project management, or an MBA with a specialization in project management? Which approach did you take, and did it pay off? Related: If you are in the business of recruiting or hiring project managers, what types of professional development and advanced education do you look for when sifting through resumes?
My question to MF is, what would you recommend for updating qualifications and getting back into the graphic design field? Unfortunately, going back to school full-time isn't an option. Anybody have experience in the field and some advice to share? Thank you, MF! Looking forward to seeing what you all have to say. [more inside]

Looking for good Chinese (Mandarin) Movies and TV series to study Chinese. Must be in Chinese (Mandarin) and should be interesting. Furthermore, they should be freely available to watch or download. Suggestions welcome.
My spouse and I want to begin learning Mandarin. Can you recommend places, tutors, or websites that we can use to pursue that in the LA area? Details inside. [more inside]
There are a number of things I learned in school that I never really "understood," like certain aspects of grammar in foreign languages, or theorems, or programming concepts. Maybe I transiently or superficially understood things, or got by with pattern recognition or test-taking skills... I understood things enough to do fine on the test but not enough to be creative with those concepts. Have you ever revisited high school or college topics later in life? How did that experience compare? [more inside]
I'm trying to learn all about the various methods of sleep training babies and toddlers. Obviously, there is a ton of information online which is difficult to filter for quality. Plus, it's something people get very emotional about so it's hard to seek unbiased opinions from e.g. parent communities. Can you point me to the blogs and books you've found most useful, comprehensive and research-based?
Please give me resources on designing and conducting business simulation games. [more inside]
I am in danger of being kicked out of my graduate program because of a couple of mistakes I made when filling out paperwork for my internships. What are my rights? What are my next steps? [more inside]
The second year of my (pre) med program begins in a few months, and I am unsure if I can afford to return to school due to the expense of rent (not to mention tuition). This summer I'm saving all of my rent money up by being a live-in catsitter and paying nothing in rent, but if I don't find something reasonable soon I likely won't be able to return to school. How do I hack this? Details within. [more inside]
What community colleges in the SF bay area (preferably south bay) offer art classes on nights/weekends? I've heard of City College in SF, but there must be more right! I'm particularly interested in drawing/painting focused classes geared towards beginners.
I'm trying to work out the probability that someone is either out of work or in a less-than-ideal working situation (i.e. working part time, when they want to work full time, for example) in the future. I need help figuring out if the categories I have are mutually exclusive. [more inside]
