Checking Gmail on Mac.com Issue

I'd like to check my GMail via Mac.com. I set up the incoming mail server as smtp.gmail.com, but still cannot sync. What am I doing wrong?

The incoming mail server is pop.gmail.com. smtp.gmail.com is the outgoing mail server. Make sure you set it to use SSL.

Incoming mail server should be pop.gmail.com or imap.gmail.com

See here for POP.

IMAP here.

Don't forget to enable your Gmail account to use IMAP (second bullet in list).

Response by poster: OK... set it to POP (also tried IMAP) but I still cannot access GMail!

Ah, evidently it can't be, at least not right now. Instead, you can set GMail to forward your mail to your mac.com address. Make sure to set your GMail account to use IMAP first, per harkin banks's instructions.
