How to change the speed for multiple mouses?

How can I control the speed of different mouses on the same computer?
I regularly use a Dell mouse at work and another at home which work fine. Recently I got a "Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 4000." It seems that the mouse's pointer speed is much faster than the other mouses (mice?). I can change the pointer speed setting under the control panel, but then when I use the other mouses (and touchpad), they are too slow.
I installed the driver for the Microsoft mouse, but running it simply opens up the normal control panel that controls all the other mouses (although there are different options for the buttons and other functions). So changing that still affects all the other mouses. There is even a menu for which mouse is being detected, but it usually stays on the Microsoft mouse. I suppose I may need to reinstall all the drivers for the other two mouses, though I doubt this would work, and the track pad still would run slow.
Is there any way I can make this work?

I was thinking that you could have a pair of .reg files with the different pointer settings; however, that still requires a logoff/logon to take effect, so that's even worse.
It sounds like one of those things that would be easy in Linux, but to do it in Windows you'd need to write an application to make the registry settings and broadcast the appropriate notification every time you wanted to switch 'pointer profiles'.
So no, I've got nothing.

Hmm. That mouse has a relatively high DPI for a desktop mouse, at 1000. Conventional mouse are 400-800 dpi. it's edging into gaming mouse territory (1600 dpi upwards). The advantage of a higher DPI means you can either move further onscreen for less hand movement, or lower the sensitivity in windows, and still have precise mouse positioning - so it goes where you want more accurately, without judder.
Normally high DPI mouse can have the DPI and/or sensitivity adjusted for that particular mouse in the drivers, to avoid exactly the problem you're having.
The only option I can see is if you can adjust the sensitivity separately using the full drivers for your other mice and trackpad. You can certainly do this for logitech and razer mice. I'm afraid I'm not aware of any 3rd party app that lets you set different sensitivities for different mice.

This may not be an option, but I have a mouse that allows you to set the pointer sensitivity on the mouse itself, which is a lot more convenient than going into the control panel every time. Unfortunately I do not have the mouse in front of me but I'm sure you could find one. FWIW, I think it's some sort of gaming mouse.
