How do I work out if a website has given my computer a virus?

Has the Galbaldia Hotel infected my computer with malware?

Hi,

I downloaded some music from a videogames music website called the Galbaldia Hotel. I lost the URL for the website so I just googled the website.

According to Google the website has a tendency to infect computers with malware. I was just wondering if there's a way to work out if the parts I visited have malware (all the pages for MP3s from the House of the Dead series)?

Warning from Google:

The easiest way to tell if a site has given you a virus would probably be to scan your computer for viruses/malware.

What operating system are you using, what browser? This thread lists many programs for Windows that can help you.

Best answer: On that google page you linked is a 'Safe Browsing Diagnostic Page' link which goes into further detail about why Google has flagged it. It looks like the site itself does not directly host malware, but, acts as an intermediary. Guessing here, but, looks like whoever they are using for ads are occasionally serving up 'badware'. Use adblock and noscript and stuff like that and you should be OK.
