Where do I buy Thai food ingredients in Schaumburg, IL?

Specifically: Kaffir Leaves, Lemongrass, Galangal, Thai Tea. I checked Mitsuwa, but they don't seem to sell Thai ingredients? Where do the restaurants get these things?

Best answer: sorry, hal_c_on, but there just happens to a sizable Thai and Laotian community out near Schaumburg - and here's where they shop,

Asia Super Market - 34 East Golf Road, (847) 781-0289
Oriental Food Market - 1105 North Salem Drive, (847) 885-8610
Sue-Oriental Foods Mart - 917 West Wise Road, (847) 524-4640

There's another in Elk Grove, less than a mile east of Woodfiled @ the S.E. corner of Higgins & Arlington Hts Rd, but I don't remember the name - it's about a mile and a half south of Mitsuwa.

Response by poster: Thanks guys... I know the one you're talking about in EG. I'll stop by all of these stores to find what I'm looking for. Thanks!

if you haven't found it yet, try the unimart at 1028 west golf. mainly phillipino, but they probably have some thai stuff as well.

I am sure that the grocery stores listed above have everything you want but I have seen many of the items on your list at the Valli on Roselle and Golf Roads. Plus they have super cheap produce. Bonus!

Seconding MeetMegan- that's an awesome store. There are things in there I've never seen anywhere else. Don't look too closely at the various "meats" if you're squeamish. Unless tongue and tripe are your thing...
