Trying to find a good Knife Skills cooking class or workshop in the Ottawa area. Any ideas?

Abbril, I know Algonquin College offered a knife skills course this past spring. You might also try the Cordon Bleu School on Laurier, which offers weekend gourmet courses and demonstration courses.

Oh, also, don't forget about cooking classes offered through Loblaws and the LCBO. Check your local for listings.

Response by poster: I checked both Algonquin and Cordon Bleu, and while both have courses I'd love to take, neither has a knife workshop listed (currently).

I'll check out Loblaws and the LCBO. Thanks.

More ideas for you, Abbril:
The Urban Element offers cooking courses, and has offered knife skills courses in the past. You could always ring and see if they'd notify you when a new knife skills course is going to take place.
The Ottawa District School Board also offers general interest courses, including cooking courses, during the school year.

If you find something good, could you please let me know about it?

Seconding LN's recommendation of Urban Element. Though I wasn't there for a specific knife class, the chef took us aside and showed us the correct way of using a knife on all the foods we prepared.

The LCBO classes fill up quickly, but are very good.
