What is the best place to go on the net for high-quality music videos? [mi]

There are lots of sites hosting music videos on the web. But most videos are of fairly low quality, especially the audio. Often audio encoding is so poor that there are noticeable distortions and noise. Ideally I would like to find videos with near-CD audio and OK video. Any recommendations? Where do you go for videos?

Any p2p program, such as Kazaa Lite will have them.

If you have winamp 5, hit alt-v. Then click on the little tv icon in the bottom of the box that pops up.

videos.antville.org is sort of a music video blog with links to new videos.

alternate method for mayor curley's suggestion

with the latest winamp (5.04), go to the media library. you can do this fast by hitting alt+L.

under the streaming videos section, click Winamp.com videos. there is a decent selection of music videos there, with some decent quality versions.

Yeah, lots of good videos in Winamp.com Videos.

They even have the entire Lou Reed/John Cale 'Songs For Drella' concert in there.

Or, on a mac the iTunes store has a music video section, good high quality streams.

For older stuff you can often find people selling compilations on eBay,
I just got DVD-Rs of the Clash, the Smiths, English Beat, the Go-Gos, etc.

That's on a PC as well, right?

I wish more artists would put their high quality videos on their singles or albums. A few release DVDs (not that common though) and a few put them on their singles.. but they're exceptions rather than the rule. If they put videos on their CD singles, I'd probably buy a lot of singles! As it is, I buy none.

Bands should release their videos reasonably freely, it's not as if they sell them usually anyway, and I wouldn't even mind if the sound quality was poor to dissuade music pirates.

Oh, and streaming doesn't count.. it's a waste of time because the videos are often down within months, and I want to watch them for years to come.

wackybrit : BPI rules make it difficult to justify including videos, if you wish the sales to count towards chart positions. UK chart, that is.
