Desktop monitoring software for PCs and Macs

Management has given the job to find desktop monitoring software to monitor what a certain employee at work is doing. We've done the firewall monitoring and management wants to go to the desktop level. Their primary machine is XP, but they also use Mac OS X so I need solutions for both platforms. Ideally the software could email a snapshot out to someone (and fortunately, it looks like it won't be me)

What about a VNC-based solution? For example, there's VNC Snapshot, which would require scripting for an e-mail to be sent out. VNC Robot might be another solution.
