Festivals around the world

Is there a good reference site for festivals around the world? I'm going to be traveling and this would be a neat place to start planning where to be when. I'd like to find a resource that has actual festivals, not just holidays (like you wouldn't specifically come to the US for MLK Day but you would for the 4th of July).

Discovery HD had a great series called Fantastic Festivals of the World. The production company has a list of the episodes. I'm not sure it will serve as a great resource for planning, but it should be a great resource for discovering interesting festivals.

It's not an online reference, but I've found that Lonely Planet's guidebooks are usually reliable for listing events and festivals in places I'm thinking of visiting. I've used them a lot for planning my travel around big happenings.
