Fanny pack recommendations?

I'd like to get a fanny pack that's large enough to hold a Penguin Classics-sized book, a phone, and a sandwich. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

I personally never have been comfortable with 'fanny packs' until I found Duluth's Travel Waist Pack. I wear it like a small handbag with the optional shoulder strap, but it will slip onto pretty much any belt. It's small, but very roomy, easy to clean and looks sharp. Pricey, but oh so worth it.

it looks much larger in the drawing that it actually is, pay attention to the size specs, this is a compact, very lightweight pack.

They seem to be calling them "lumbar" packs as well, since people tend to wear them in back instead of front. I know the Mountainsmith packs are very popular, and apparently really comfortable. There are also a bunch of options here. The individual descriptions can probably help figure out the size/capacity that would work for you.

Somebody just asked about fanny packs 3 days ago.

I carry more or less this stuff in my Lowe Alpine Peak Runner when travelling, plus a small bottle of water in the side pouch. The square form makes it very convenient for pocketbooks, even bulky ones.

They also come in other colors - mine's black.

tell you what, elect h20 kettle, I'm not a rich man, but if price is an issue I believe in the bag I linked to so strongly that, if you are currently short on money (which i often am) I'd be happy to buy you one of the bags, and if you just pure hate it, or, even, don't dig it, I'll pay you to send it on to me. I like it that much. So really, how the hell can you lose? :)
this offer is only good if you are currently tight on monies, in which case it'll make my week to send you one. EIP
