Halifax stagette ideas?

I need to plan my best friend's stagette, in Halifax. I'm in Vancouver, which makes things a tad more difficult. Any ideas?

The bride-to-be currently lives in Halifax. Her stagette party is planned for a weekend in late may (NOT the long weekend). The goal is to devote the entire Saturday to stagette-related activities. My problem is that I have no idea what those activities should be. I've only been to a couple stagettes myself, and they were either horrible (think sleezy ladies night at a strip club) or boring (very tame dinner out in an already loud restaurant where we couldn't even talk and be heard.)

Handicaps: We need to work in a dinner or drinks thing another bridesmaid is organizing with the girls from work. Other than that, this bridesmaid isn't going to be much more help - she's insanely busy. No strippers, or anything involving nakedness. Also, nothing generally humiliating for the bride. I've also heard rumblings about a cowboy theme, but I'm not sure what the status of that request is. Other than that, I'm totally up for any and all suggestions! I've only been to Halifax very briefly once before, so I'm completely clueless about what is (and isn't) available nearby.

I live in Vancouver now but used to live in Halifax. A couple ideas:

Remedy Spa has a self-serve facial bar that is a lot of fun to do with a group. They also have a liquor license!

You could also go on a tour of the Keith's Brewery. It's fun even for locals (I went when I lived there).

My wife had the petticures for her bridesmaids at Remedy, and loved it. IIRC, it was very affordable, as well.

The Economy Shoe Shop is a great place to eat. The dining areas are very neatly designed, and has very good food.

I don't know if you like to gamble (many do), but hitting the Casino might also be a great idea as well. I know that it worked well for the stag party I attended there, and its a fairly unisex activity that involves booze.

Those are the only two places I can think of that are still open since I lived there; the waterfront is fun, assuming the weather is cooperative. Perhaps a tour of the area?

If you're willing to drive out a bit, Peggy's Cove is probably one of my favorite places on the face of the planet. Just gorgeous to look at, and very serene.

How about chartering a boat of some sort for a harbour cruise or whale-watching? Most provide food and drinks. Alas, you'll be too early for Theodore Tugboat's season.

I live in Halifax. The answer is pub crawl.

There are a few restaurants downtown that have reas you can ask to book off for a higher level of privacy from the rest of the patrons.

Off the top of my head:

There is the upper area at Chives. The aforementioned Economy Shoe Shop has a back room with it's own bar, but I suspect that's probably rather pricey to rent out. Stonehaven restaurant is sectioned into areas. Depending on the amount of people there's also the Hamachi Steakhouse for Teppanaki, but it can get fairly loud and the U shaped tables aren't overly conducive for conversation. The Five Fisherman also has one (or more) private rooms (and all you can eat mussels!).

Apart from eating and drinking, I am not sure if I have any other suggestions for activities.
