Is there anything similar to Meebo for Skype?
Yah, you need to be more clear. I use both meebo and skype, but I have no idea what you're asking. Free voip programs? Web-based skype? Voip group-chat thing?

My guess on what he means is a 3rd party app that interfaces with the skype servers (the way Meebo does with AIM et al.) but I don't know of anything like that.

Best answer: Skype does a lot to keep anyone else from using their network. Everything is encrypted, and it would be extremely hard for a third party such as Meebo to interface with it.

Why don't you email Skype themselves & suggest it? I find their closed system thoroughly reprehensible, but they are good about giving customers what they want. Indeed they only survive in their "minority but closed" position by being much more competent than other IM operators. What your asking for isn't very difficult.

MeBeam does free web-based video-conferencing. It's pretty cool. All you need is a browser and a webcam.

@szasza
a third-party such as fring?
I agree that it is quite hard but it seems to be doable.

Or are you looking for a website where you can make VOIP calls out to the public telephone network? I'm not aware of any of those.
