chicago photoshop classes

Can anyone recommend a free or cheap photoshop class that I can take in chicago?
Lynda.com has great tutorials for everything. If you just want to do it this summer, you could get the monthly subscription for $25 and you'll have access to their full library of tutorials.

It's not really possible to answer this without some idea what you expect to get out of the class. Do you just want to know where all the buttons are and what they do, or how to do photographic retouching? Free/cheap is definitely leaning toward the former.
Anyway, Digital Bootcamp has classes ranging anywhere from a hundred bucks to two thousand, lasting from a weekend to eight weeks. Depending again upon your interpretation of "cheap," at least one of those options will probably fit you.

Can't speak for Chicago, but it's possible to get good educational DVD's. I'd suggest checking out a Gnomon DVD, we used to have a few of the 3D Studio ones knocking around the office-- they're amongst the best educational software DVD's I've used. Hopefully their Adobe ones are just as good. $69 for the one mentioned.

It seems like there were some photoshop groups listed on Meetup.com.

I'm not sure if it still works, but for a while there was a free deal to get access to the VTC online photoshop classes. I've followed a couple for Premiere and found them useful, but I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for.

I work for a large creative software training company, we just opened an office in Chicago and are offering free mini-sessions to introduce ourselves to the area.
Here's the link. Next one is May 14. Enjoy!

I actually go to school there. Course will probably be pretty rigorous.
