New Yorker in Berlin in English?

Does anyone know of an English-language newspaper directed toward residents of Berlin?

My master's thesis takes the Berlin Wall and the World Trade Center as its major foci. I'm looking at the uses of architecture and spatial environments as semiotics--buildings as symbols. In addition to reports about the two constructions, I'd really like to get into locals' brains about their interactions with the structures.

I'm using memoirs and oral histories to do that, but have recently found useful material for the latter of the two structures in the New Yorker. The magazine seems to me to be an accurate expression of several of New Yorkers' concerns about the initial construction, the destruction, and the rebuilding of the site.

So the question is, given my extremely limited knowledge of German, is there any equivalent to the New Yorker, directed to Berliners, in English? Or anything close?

(Commentary about how I'm a doofus because I'm not proficient in a language more than relevant to my thesis is unnecessary. I know it, I know it. I'll be starting German classes shortly, and if I were doing a dissertation, I would never try anything like this. But at this point, it's a thesis, so I'm marching ahead with the resources I have...)

I may have/be a resource for you. Please check your Mefi Mail. I tried emailing your profile address, but it bounced.

Please forgive the derail.

The Exberliner is more of a weekly listings magazine for newcomers to Berlin, and is generally regarded as anything but insightful or zeitgeist-y (as well as being very badly written). There is at the moment no Berlin equivalent of the New Yorker or anything close, maybe try the international site of this (slightly conservative and scaremongering) news magazine,
http://www.spiegel.de/international/
or the archives and links at this blog:
http://raskal.typepad.com/
or maybe search for relevant articles by keyword on the Zitty, (listings mag plus Kreuberg-oriented opinion Taz (standard non-conservative paper) and Jungle World (left-oriented news) sites and get them translated?
