Where should I get Montreal Inked?

What's a good, English-friendly tattoo parlour in Montreal, QC?

I'm looking to get this fox done on my arm, in Montreal. This will be my first tattoo, and I'd like maybe a list of good parlours that I could check out. My French is abysmal and I wouldn't trust myself to order a damn Coke, so I'd like an Anglo-friendly shop. Thanks, hive mind!

Best answer: From Best of Montreal Mirror 2007:

Best Tattoo Parlour
1. Adrenaline (1541 Sherbrooke W., (514) 938-8884)
2. Tatouage Artistique (823 Ontario E., (514) 529-8288)
3. Tattoomania (1615 de Maisonneuve E., (514) 525-2025)
4. Slick Styled Steel (1841 Ste-Catherine W.,(514) 842-8999)
5. Imago (158 Prince Arthur E., (514) 350-0015)

Best Tattoo Artist
1. Jeff Wiet, Adrenaline (1541 Sherbrooke W.,(514) 938-8884)
2. Arno, Imago (158 Prince-Arthur E., (514) 350-0015)
3. Eric Martinello, Adrenaline (1541 Sherbrooke W., (514) 938-8884)
4. Robin Labreche, Adrenaline (1541 Sherbrooke W., (514) 938-8884)
5. Normand, Totem et Tabou (4621 St-Laurent, (514) 849-9666)

Personally, I've been inked at Adrenaline, Imago and Tatouage Pointe-Sainte-Charles, and they were all anglo-friendly. Adrenaline is reputable but Imago focuses only on custom, which is what you want. Dave Knight at Tatouage Point-Sainte Charles has done two great custom tattoos for me!

I'm pretty sure I spoke English with Safwan when I got inked at Imago.

I got my tattoo at Slick Styled Steel, don't do that, at least not the one in the West Island, I don't know what the downtown one is like but they are the same company... I've been pierced, but not tattooed at Adrenaline, they're very professional and Anglo friendly, I've liked my experiences there a lot.

(As an aside, I've recently fallen in love a little with Azl at Tatooatouage for my piercings, but I don't know about their tattoo artists.)

tattoo people have a sbculture all their own, typical linguistic barriers and prejudices do not apply in this realm.

just find a good tattoo artist ( check ot their portfolio ) and not a scratcher...

When I in New Brunswick the tattoo parlour there (besides an army base) had nothing but good things to say about Tatouage Artistique, since then I've referred a few friends there and they have all been really satisfied.
