I'm looking for a reputable alteration shop or tailor in West Houston.

I've got a few pair of pants that I need altered. I can only ever find 30" length pants in my waist size, and I'm tired of stepping on the back of the cuffs. I've got a few pair of khakis/slacks, and a couple of pair of denim jeans that will be destroyed promptly if I do not get them fixed.

I'm looking for something on the west side, bonus points if it's near the Hwy 6/I-10/Eldridge/Richmond/Westhiemer area.

This is not a difficult task. Have you checked with the dry cleaners in the area? If they don't do alterations then they should have some suggestions of tailors in the area.

My aunt used to swear by the tailor at the southwest corner of Memorial and Dairy Ashford. She took all the family tailoring there, including pants and jackets for my uncle. I myself have had some fairly complicated alterations on party dresses done by the ladies at that shop, so I woudn't hesitate to recommend them for simple pants hems and cuffs.

Google reports that they are still at 14459 Memorial Drive, and the shop name is now Bridal Designs and Alterations. I haven't needed a tailor in Houston for 5+ years so I don't know if they've gone exclusively to bridal work, but you could call them and ask - and if they don't do men's trousers, they would certainly be able to recommend a good local alternative.

Response by poster: @nimseylou, sure, I can play musical-dry-cleaner in the Yellow Pages, but I was looking for a shop that a real live person has been to and recommends.

@pineapple, thanks!
