Colon Cleansing - Are the solutions advertised on TV and on the web a good idea? Are they harmful? Do doctors approve this kind of thing?

Complete and total scam. And not a harmful only to your pocketbook scam like those footpad "detoxers" but a scam that is actually harmful to your body.

Pen & Teller did an episode on Colon Cleanses on their TV program Bullshit. As you might anticipate, in their rather profane way they made it clear that de-toxing is, well, bullshit.

Complete horseshit. BUT - the occasional fast does feel quite pleasant, tough that has little to do with cleaning out your gut.
