Does anyone else love Lacquer?

I have fallen in love with the song "Behind" by the band Lacquer. If I love this song, by this (thus-far, by me, at least) hard-to-locate band, who else would I enjoy listening to?

Thanks everyone for your help.

I think knowing a little bit more about what you like about it might help. Is it the vocals, the beat, the mood it evokes?

Off the top of my head, there's the obvious Postal Service, maybe Figurine or Phoenix.

One of my fave Phoenix songs (bad video though): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhwufCg7THM

Cosmo Vitelli did a great remix of this very song that would definitely be worth hunting down. From there, you might be interested in French touch/ filter house in general. There was a good thread about it here a while ago.

If you're in the US, you should have access to Pandora, which will let you put in a song and then play a radio of songs they deem to be similar based on lyrics, music style, etc. You can then rate songs up and down and the radio will continually "learn" your preferences based on this. I totally recommend this service, even if it's no longer available to me due to geographical reasons.

Something like Cherry Blossom Girl by Air might work?

By the way, that band IS hard to find anything on, and that's an amazing video and great song.

(As per You Tube's warning, that video is apparently totally NSFW as I'm finding.)

Also, hit me up if you'd like a clean copy of the song in MP3 format.

I'll give it a shot. That sound is pretty unique. Some similar songs you might like...

MGMT - Kids and Time to Pretend
LCD Soundsystem - Someone Great
Telepopmusik - Breathe
Thom Yorke - Black Swan
Simian Mobile Disco - I Believe

Seconding The Postal Service. If you haven't already heard them, check out The District Sleeps Alone Tonight and Such Great Heights.

LastFM auto computes two "connected groups" and a bunch of "similar artists" for you.

...but seems to leave off "Röyksopp" which sounds similar to me. A chance to post a link to great video of "Remind Me" anyway.

....and finally you could either look at his playlist about his influences on his MySpace page.

Lots of good tips here already, I think. Here's a few other artists that occur to me:

dZihan & Kamien
Everything but the Girl
Digitalism (this is a more electro-clash)
Daft Punk's "Discovery" (if you don't already know it)

Response by poster: Everyone,

Thank you, thank you, thank you for these suggestions. I have really enjoyed listening to these songs, and you are all pretty well spot-on with what I was looking for.
