Getting the scoot from there to here without driving it.

What's the best way to ship a scooter from Ohio to Massachusetts?

I'm looking at buying a scooter that is too far for me to go and pickup myself. I'm wondering if there are any specific shipping companies that anyone would recommend. There seem to be a bunch that show up with a google search, but I'm not sure how to weed them out.

I've also heard about UShip, and am wondering if anyone has any experience with it.

Some sort of door to door service would be preferable.

Also, I wouldn't mind hearing advice about buying vehicles at a distance.

Thanks.

Forward Air. They ship scooters all over the place. Tons of my friends have used them successfully in the past.

I recently bought a car in Ohio though I love in MA. I drove my old car out there - took 11 hours, spent a few days there getting the new car and drove back. So I advocate making the drive. I did it in one shot (each way) and by myself, and it really was no big deal.

Response by poster: FlyByDay - I don't think I can do 11 hours on a scooter yet ;) and I don't have access to a trailer or anything.

Second Forward Air. All of the scooter folks I know use them for shipping their bikes.
