i can has lolcats?

i can has cheezburger has stopped displaying images when I view it at work - help!

When I look at the site at work the text displays fine but no images. I can click on the image titles to go through to the comments, but still no pictures.

We have WebSense but that usually blocks the site completely and gives a message about the site category.

I have used lolcats in presentations, so I could go to IT and explain this and ask them if they are blocking access, but I think exemption requests have to go through the Exec Director.

Can anyone explain what's happening here and if there's any way to view the images?

I do know there are other lolcat/cat macros sites, but prefer ican for my lolcat needs.

They serve images from icanhascheezburger.files.wordpress.com , so I'm guessing wordpress.com is blocked by WebSense.

I've noticed this in the last two or three days as well, and I'm behind no firewall or proxy. If I reload the page a time or two or three it usually loads.

The images are also blocked by my work-filter. If you are prepared to risk the ire of your work IT overlords, then try using a proxy such as anonymouse.org to view the site.

Response by poster: Thanks for the replies so far. Wordpress blogs seem to work ok, so I'm surprised by this. Proxy access, unfortunately, is definitely blocked.

I can't get the pictures at the icanhascheezburger page at work, but can on my blogreader (I use bloglines) for some reason I don't understand (but am thankful for).

When you go here ( http://icanhascheezburger.files.wordpress.com/ ), does it redirect to icanhascheezburger.com or do you get blocked? Are you using Firefox? If so, try loading the site with LiveHTTPHeaders and capture what is going on. If you get a response from an internal address where the images are supposed to load, than you are being blocked.

Just a note, just this last week or so, they changed the design and format of the website, which may have lead to your new headaches. Would it be worth while to write the website and ask what exactly they did or didn't change? It might provide a quicker route to a solution.

Response by poster: Yes, linking directly to http://icanhascheezburger.files.wordpress.com/ gives me this message:

The site you are trying to connect to conflicts with the Websense access control rules set by xx's Internet Usage Policies

Reason:
The Websense category "Social Networking and Personal Sites" is filtered.

Guess this means I'm stuck unless I contact IT, though I will contact the site - thanks for that suggestion.
