Green games for kids

Ecological/environmental group games for kids ages 6-9, that work from personal experience? (More on the inside)

I'm working at an estuary reserve (forests, salt marsh, field, river and sandy beach), designing and leading environmental education programs for lower elementary students. I have 16 kids at a time, and I'm doing fine with my curriculum and outdoor explorations, but I need ideas for games to keep them occupied with my partner while I set something up or work with a smaller group or just kill time while walking between sites. I have dozens of books, Project Wild etc. but I'd like to hear from others who have done this sort of thing personally. They don't necessarily have to impart some great wisdom, just keep them occupied and hopefully be "on topic."

Any creative ideas for modifications on "regular" games are also very much appreciated! ("Red light/ Green light" as "High Tide/Low Tide" has been a big hit, especially having to flop around on the sand during low tide)

When I was in junior high, my biology class played a game called "Oh, Deer!" I thought it was pretty interesting. This might be OK for elementary school kids as well.
