Has anyone tried Virulite, the anti-cold sore device? Does it work?

The Wellness Letter's verdict (scroll down) was that it seems to, somewhat, and doesn't appear to have side effects.

That being said, as someone who tried every remedy known to man for years and suffered from awful repeated cold sores, I tend to agree with their conclusion. It seems well worth the ~$40 I spend a year on a prescription of acyclovir which has let through about two cold sores in three years.

Abreva cuts the total time of a visible sore from about 2 weeks to 1 week for me, if I hit it right as soon as I feel the tingling. As far as I know it is still the only FDA-approved and recommended OTC treatment for oral herpes.
