Who is Dena Martina?

Who is Dena Martina? She has provided music for Dan Savage's Savage Lovecast on the Xmas and New Year's episodes. Where can I find out more about this sonorous siren of song?

Alas, my googlecraft has yielded nothing. I am starting to lose sleep over who this woman is. Is she a Seattle, local act? Is she a woman?

Anything you marvelous mefi's could help with would be appreciated as always.

Best answer: You'd probably have more luck if you spelled her name correctly: Dina Martina.

Response by poster: why yes, yes I would.

Though for the record, Dena is an actual name and not just a horrible creation of a world without spell check.

Thank you much.

For the record, and in answer to one of your original questions, Dina Martina is not technically a woman. S/he is a local drag queen and celebrity well known in Seattle.

The lovely and talented creation of Grady West. Much bigger than Seattle now.

Response by poster: Matildaben: the combination of campy/cheesy music and that voice of hers led me to believe she was a drag performer. I just wanted to throw that last question in as to show I was not some pink, youthful rube who didn't know his way around drag performers (that way involves a bar, and holding on for dear life).

Bear: Her website has a calendar of events and she is performing all over the place. Watch out Lady Bunny.
