Petite boot shopping in Austin, Texas

Austin shopping filter: Where has a good selection of ladies casual calf- to knee-high boots for reasonable prices in Austin that is not in a mall? See details for specifics.

I am looking to get a pair of flat, black boots, probably suede or suede-esque to wear with skirts mostly. I am looking to spend $100 or less. One problem is that I am very petite and many boots are either too tall and/or too wide in the legs for me and look very silly. That's why I need to find a place with a wide selection of brands so I can find one that runs smallish.
I've tried DSW and really most of the big-box shoe stores in Central and North Austin.
I've tried the mall/don't want to go back there because it's going to be a madhouse of people trying to get after-Christmas sales.
Online shopping is not an option since I have to be able to try them on my weird legs.
Thanks!

I assume you don't want western style? Just checking for clarification.

Response by poster: No, not western.

I know you said no online shopping, but I've had great luck with both Zappos and Piperlime. They have free shipping and free returns (they ship the shoes with a pre-paid UPS return label), so if you're not happy, you can get all your money back.

Best answer: Creatures Boutique and Goody Two Shoes are good (as is Allen's Boots for western). Also, the shoe selection at fetish is apparently "legendary" and I have heard a few people mention it, but have never been. It might be out of your price, range though. Of course, Buffalo Exchange is hit or miss, sometimes they'll have something fora great price, other times they'll have nothing at all.

Best answer: of course it's hit or miss, but in my experience buffalo exchange usually has a wide range of shoes--it might be worth stopping by a few times if you don't have any luck

Response by poster: Thanks for the suggestions! I did go to Goody Two Shoes and found some really cheap boots I liked, but the guy was all weird about letting me try on 2 sizes so I ended up buying a dress there and finding the same boots elsewhere, haha! I've got brown boots now, so now I just need some black ones.
I did get some good Western boots at Buffalo Exchange before, I'll check back in to see if they have anything good right now (even though they're mean little urchins who will only buy my tackiest old clothes and none of the good stuff when I try to sell stuff there).
