Can anyone help me find the most-sold NFL football jersey number? e.g., Have more #7's been sold than any other number, regardless of team or player?

According to this page, 12, 14, and 16--for QBs only. However, I have no idea how reliable this Joey Abna fella is.

Anecdotal, but when I was a kid, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, had an OJ Simpson number 32. It might not have been the most sold jersey, but every little junior T-shirt or half-cut mesh peewee jersey sold at Kmart was a #32 because of Juice.

I think its generational, but the most popular jerseys will always be QBs then RBs and WRs.

QBs will be in the teens, RB in the 20s and WR in the 80s. I would look at 7,9,11,17,21,24,26 and 81 as most popular. You may find that 21,24 or 26 are the most popular because they tend to double up with Cornerbacks/Safetys as well as RBs.

I bet number four is up there as well, but I have no evidence to back this assertion.
