My TV doesn't boot

My TV won't boot. The screen turns on, but it doesn't display anything (it's just solid black) and doesn't respond when I press any button besides the power button. Does anybody have any clever ideas for trying to deal with this myself before I send it in for repair?
I bought an Olevia 537H 37" LCD TV in June. Normally when you turn it on, it displays an Olevia logo for a couple of seconds, and then displays whatever input you left it on last.
In August, there was a day where I could not get the TV to boot. The screen would turn on, but the software wouldn't start. It wouldn't display the Olevia logo, or any input, and when I pressed various buttons (channel, volume, input switch, whatever), whether I used the remote or the buttons on the unit, it wouldn't do anything. It finally started working again the following morning.
Since then, it's been an intermittent problem. At first, it happened about once a month. But this is the third weekend in a row where it's given me trouble (although during the week it's been fine), so now something needs to be done.
I haven't been able to discern any patterns to this problem. At first I thought it happened after I watched a movie, but then there were a couple times it happened after I played video games instead. I haven't found a consistent way to bring it back to life, either. Various combinations of disconnecting all the inputs, turning off the master power switch in the back, unplugging it, turning it on and off rapidly—all of these solutions seemed to work at one time or another but I haven't had any repeat success with any of them.
Since this is happening so often now, I need to take care of this once and for all—I can't spend this much time worrying about my TV. It's still under warranty and will be for a while, so if nothing else I can (and will) send it in. But before I go through that whole ordeal, I wanted to check to see if anyone had some easier ideas. A few pages I've found through Google show reports from people who seem to be having similar problems, but no solutions. Thanks!

Cruising through the AVSforum for your tv model shows some people having similar problems (although usually after a firmware upgrade). They pretty much went with kittydelsol's method of getting a new TV.
You might want to ask over there, but they will probably refer you to support.
