Small isn't so small!

Where to find a plain, skinny fit T-shirt for men in the UK? It's harder than you'd think!

I'm a very skinny guy, with a very crappy wardrobe. I'm sick and tired of all my T-shirts, even supposedly "small" ones, hanging off me formlessly.

Oh, you can find skinny shirts in high street stores - they're actually pretty fashionable at the moment it seems, as part of the whole stupid indie/hipster thing that's regrettably cool. As a result of this, they all tend to have really stupid designs on them. I'm loath to wear anything with a stupid design. I'm just after a small, fitted, skinny shirt in plain colours. It sounds so simple but it's really a horrible chore!

Perhaps this is a stupid or irrelevant question, but it's really getting me down at a time when I'm trying to expand my wardrobe and just look better in general!

Skinny UK men! Help me!

American Apparel's shirts are quite slim-fit. 100% cotton and sweatshop-free. They have stores in the UK.

Abercrombie and Fitch does men's t-shirts that are a slimmer fit. You might want to check them out. They are only located in London (I think) at the moment, right near Saville Row.

Maybe Howies t-shirts would work for you? They're blank, at least, and the company is supposedly pretty cool about things like labor and the environment.

I have found that underwear tends to be a bit more snug than normal clothing, and no one can really tell the difference, so you might get your hands on some undershirts and dye them the desired colors as well.

I have an American Apparel t-shirt and while I personally like the way it fits me, it is definitely not "fitted" (although they may have fitted sizes, I guess).

And, in the totally not-answering-the-question vein, have you thought about filling out? Chunky is the new thin.

Easy - H&M do slim fit plain T-shirts in short and long sleeve versions for about £3 each.

Seconding American Apparel and Abercrombie & Fitch. Next also sell nicely fitted t-shirts individually and in packs of 3/5.

M & S do plain (black/white) t-shirts as part of their underwear range. They have some of the best fits I've come across and are reasonably priced as well. I'm extra skinny as well and their small size fits me fine.

Seconding H&M for cheap, nice, plain slim fit t-shirts in a bunch of colours, and i find their stuff in general is fitted for the scrawnier gent (like, stuff marked "small" fits tall thin people, not just short thin people)

seconding Gap for decent skinny fit stuff in plain colours... too much design on the H+M front for my liking
