How can I more effectively build up my business so as to have a celebrity clientele?

(posted for an activity partner)

I have been working in Manhattan as a mortgage officer for one of the major banks for about two years.

I was wondering how I can more effectively build up my business so as to have a celebrity clientele. I assume I need to meet and build the trust of the business managers - so how do I go about doing that? And, more specifically, are there any events I can attend or clubs to join to better position myself?

You need to do a couple of things. First, you need a good publicist. He/She will position you as an expert in the field, get you interviews in magazines and just as importantly help you identify the events you need to be at. Once you have a little media exposure it is all about networking. Get out there and meet people - especially the business managers. Wine, dine and chat them up. Celebrities are very selective about who they work with, and will generally only go with someone that has been referred to them by someone they trust.

(fyi... i'm a principle at an entertainment marketing company... so i have some experience in the space you're aiming for).

What kinds of celebrities are you focusing on? In other words, _why_ do you need a celebrity clientele?
