Why did Greasemonkey stop working?

For some reason, no Greasemonkey scripts on my Mac running BonEcho (G4 Optimized Firefox) 2.0.0.8 actually get applied. None.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the extension, selectively disabling extensions, etc. No luck. Help!

Can you give us an idea of what you're running?
Do you remember the last thing that DID work?
Just checking: they're not all gmail scripts are they?

Best answer: 9 times out of ten, this kind of problem is some kind of profile corruption from extensions not playing nice. Create a new profile, then install only greasemonkey. Then install a simple script that you know should work and see what happens. If it works, port your old profile over to the new one piece by piece until you figure out where the conflict is.

Best answer: My Greasemonkey got corrupted a few months ago, and uninstalling and reinstalling didn't help. Once I'd manually deleted the entries in about:config (search for 'monkey') it reinstalled perfectly.
