How to join a blog network

I would like to start a blog, but I'd like the support of a blog network. Where can I begin? What networks should I contact? Thanks!
What kind of blog are you thinking of creating?
Political, personal, religious, journalistic, tech?
For profit or for fun?

Blog networks suck. Honest. I wrote for one for close to a year and it was terrible. No advantages at all.

A blog network usually won't take in brand new blogs, they want someone with a good deal of previous posts and a bit of traffic. You probably want to be in a network to gain some traffic, so there's a bit of a catch-22.
I'd strongly suggest going your own way, building a site and writing it yourself, to please yourself, and if you get big enough that blog networks come knocking on your door, reconsider it then, but personally I don't see any benefit of them.

What do you mean by "support"? Are you looking for help as a writer, help monetizing your blog, or are you hoping to get more traffic by joining a group that's already established?

I think others have covered actual blog networks, but there is an outside chance you meant that you just want someone else to handle the "behind the scenes" aspects of making the blog work properly (keeping posts in chronological order etc).
If you are concerned about technical aspects, you can use a free service like blogger.com to set up your blog. It gives you a ready-made package to start with, so you don't have to think much about the "behind the scenes" stuff. You can just begin writing.

What is your audience? Personal blog, niche blog, professional blog, Mommy blog?
