I haven't found an explanation for this anywhere. Does anyone know why all of Woody Allen's films have been released on dvd in mono? Is this a creative decision by Allen or something else?

I think I remember reading an anecdote about Woody Allen being annoyed by poorly-run cinemas playing the stereo sound flipped in the wrong speakers, so his films are all done in mono. But I can't find a quote unfortunately.

Yeah, I can't find an official-looking source, but Allen films are done in mono to begin with.
