Today's NYTimes in London?

Can I buy today's New York Times anywhere in North London?

My kid brother's band got a nice write up in the Arts section, and I'd like to hang on to the paper for posterity.

Someone might chime in with a definitive answer, but I'd try the hotels perhaps. Maybe one that has a lot of American businessmen/travelers.

Larger branches of WH Smiths often carry foreign newspapers (although you might need to wait til tomorrow to get today's paper).

Also worth a try are the larger train stations (Paddington in particular, as it's the terminus for the Heathrow Express so has a lot of international passing trade).

Moroni's at 68 Old Compton Street does international papers, not sure if they're always contemporaneous but it's worth a shot.

Anywhere near a yank investment bank. Various places in the City and on Fleet Street

Borders in Angel, usually carry international newspapers. I'd try there.

Borders and the like will have it tomorrow or the day after.

what you'll find is the International Herald Tribune; the actual New York Times, I'd be really surprised if you did find it. I've seen the Sunday NYT in certain international newsstands/bookstores, but only the Sunday edition.

If you really need a copy, ask a kind American Mefite to send the page over to you -- a folded page fits in a latter envelope, after all, that won't break the bank

Best of luck on this--the NYT isn't printed anywhere in the UK, so you most likely will only get a copy if the IHT chooses to pick up the story. That said, I found a few news agents in Kensington who sell day-old (and sometimes week-old) copies of the NYT. You just have to look carefully.

You could try printing from the NY Times Reader (if it allows you to, of course). It displays the newspaper very similarly to the print edition, might be worth taking a look at.

It's the same situation in Ireland, too. And they're usually a month or two out of date, too. Tower Records seems to be the only place that has them.

Oops, I meant to add my 2 cents to this part:

I have a copy of today's NY Times. You're welcome to it.

Hmm...I've found sized-down versions (all the articles, but in Berlin format) of the NY Times at various newsagents (like the place across the street from the laundrette on Gloucester Rd)during my trips; the trick is to get there early enough.
