Need smart fight now!

I recently competed in the College Bowl National tournament (check out www.collegebowl.com) and I'm kinda hooked on this academic competition thing now. Does anyone know of any competitions or clubs or groups in the Seattle area that deal with this kind of competition (College Bowl, NAQT, Quiz Bowl, etc.)? I don't want to have to wait a year to do this again.

Start with the Maize Pages; I think all the collegiate groups and tournaments in your area will be listed.

Also: the Yahoo! quizbowl group and the High School Quizbowl board, which has a collegiate section.

Well there are some trash (pop culture) tournaments happening at CalTech in the next few weekends -- at least I think so. So you could see if your university would fly you down there. (I'm on the UC Davis Collegebowl team btw.)

Response by poster: UC-Davis, huh? How did you guys do at regionals? I take it UCLA is in your region and we saw them there, but maybe you gave them a run for their money?

While a little more general knowledge-oriented, a lot of groups (usually charity) hold trivia nights at libraries, inside school gymnasiums, etc. They're pretty popular in the St. Louis, MO area, but I'm not sure if they're just a regional phenomenon. Having done both college/quiz bowl and these trivia nights, I can say that while the trivia nights are in the sprit of fun, the competition can get pretty tough.

Response by poster: ruwan, you wouldn't by any chance by john kilene, would you. The UCLA guys mentioned him once. Said he was pretty good. I'd break into a rendition of "It's a small world" if that's who you are.
