Why does my Gmail Notifier and Quicksilver unexpectedly quit?

I'm running OS X 10.4.10 on an Intel iMac. I've never had any troubles until about a week ago, but now every once in a while, both Gmail Notifier and Quicksilver quit for no good reason. The icons in the menu bar disappear and I have to restart both of them. This sometimes happens after I wake my computer up from Sleep mode, other times it happens while I'm working on the computer. Does anyone know what might be causing this?
On a Macbook. Gmail Notifier seriously effed my shit up. It was super buggy and I actually ended up uninstalling it altogether. I've never had any problem with Quicksilver, but I have heard other intel Mac users say it makes their Mail or Adium go wonky. I would try the Quicksilver support resources. There is a forum an IRC room among other stuff.

Not sure how related my situation is to yours (imac G5), but I upgraded to OX 10.4.10 three weeks ago and Quicksilver and airport got real quirky afterwards, despite the standard precautions like repairing preferences before and afterwards, etc. My solution has been no longer to put the computer to sleep, and I haven't had a hiccup since (two past weeks).
[if you put your mac to sleep alot, do you make sure to run your cron maintenance scripts at some other time? Begging your pardon for any unintended condescension.)

Just to stem the flood of "everyone has this problem!", I'm running exactly the same setup and never had a hitch. I sleep and unsleep the box frequently. I'd start with the usual Mac troubleshooting steps, like repair permissions on the disk.
I did have mysterious problems with wireless but I fixed that. Even then Google Notifier stayed up and so did Quicksilver.
Are you running any other extensions?

I don't use GMail, but Quicksilver quits faaaaar too often for my liking. I almost feel like going back to Launchbar, even though of lack of nice graphics.

Also, do you have APE Manager installed (check your System Preferences)?
