Men's clothes in Toronto

What are some good men's clothes stores in Toronto?

I'm looking for some fairly formal clothes with a slimmer cut and patterns similar to Kenneth Cole's Reaction line. I'd like to spend around $40 for a shirt and maybe more for pants. The closer to downtown the better. Thanks!

Best answer: The usuals: Club Monaco, Banana Republic.

H&M has slimmer cuts, as does Zara.

All available downtown. You might also want to cruise through Yorkville, but that gets seriously spendy. Keep an eye out for the Holt Renfrew yearly sale though--I think they call it a trunk sale? I've never been.

Response by poster: What I've seen at monaco and brepublic is usually way over $40. H&M has nice cuts, but I rarely find something I like. I'll give Zara and Hold Renfrew a look.

Best answer: Just keep an eye out for sales at Monaco/Republic. Oh, Tristan & America, too.

If you think Club Monoco is expensive don't waste your time at Holt Renfrew. If you want to get cloths for under $40 check out the Gap maybe. R&W. Really, if you walk through the Eatons Centre you'll pass by a ton of mens shops.

I usually shop at RW&Co, as well as some of the other places mentioned above.

It's a little down-market from the other suggestions, but I'm an addict so I have to suggest Winners. I've actually seen a fair amount of Kenneth Cole Reaction stuff there, but it will be a bit more work to find. Usually the dress shirt selection is pretty decent though. Winner's stock is based on the income around the store, so try somewhere with a rich postal code.

I'm gonna go ahead and second Winners on this one. I've bought lots of great clothes there over the last couple of years. Especially for things like golf shirts and jeans, they really can't be beat, while you still get great brand names.
