Changing careers?

CareerchangingFilter: Im currently a network engineer and have been for the past 6 years and im completely burnt out. Im thinking of enrolling at a school to become a Respiratory Therapists. Can anyone provide any insight? Thoughts & opinions please.

I'd say pay is okay, not great. In my opinion it's also a profession that is under-respected.

I came from a hospital in Canada where we adored our RTs who could intubate, assess blood gases and make vent changes, to an Arizona hospital where they were not allowed to do any of those things. Basically, RTs set up equipment and gave inhalation treatments. Interestingly, I know several RTs who became RNs, but I'm not aware of any RNs who then became RTs.

Would you consider a career as a Pharmacist? Great wages, along with the great responsibility.
