Where can I play pick-up basketball in Toronto, Ontario?

I find myself in Toronto for the weekend--at the Novotel North York. Where can I play pick-up basketball on Saturday or Sunday during the day? I have a car and am willing to drive for a good game.

I'm sure there must be open time on the court at the YMCA?

Response by poster: Yep, I guess I'll check out the North York Y. It's not too far. Thanks!

if you cross yonge from the novotel and head east on empress, the first stop sign is doris. hang a left and go up a couple blocks (i think it's mckee?) there's an elementary school there that has a half court on the playground. sometimes there's a game there, usually it's neighborhood kids but i played some pickup ball there before.

(if youre downtown you can also sometimes find some pickup games at u of t, but honestly, it's not really a basketball kind of town.)

Response by poster: Thanks Sgt. I ended up doing a lot of "urban hiking". I hit the school you mentioned, a few stand-alone parks, and the Goulding Rec Center. No games (though Goulding had a kids clinic going on) but I got some good exercise just hoofing it around the area.
