I'm getting back into shape after a 2 years break due to illness, does anyone have any experience with the p90x workout system or is it another scam with a flashy website, nutrition books that say nothing and stuff you should have learned in high school

I prefer Body for Life, which is also an intensive workout programme, but which tells you all you need to know online, for free. Sure, they're trying to sell you supplements too but there's no need to buy them. The workouts are sound and it's a long-established programme.

I've not tried the P90X-system, but if I understand the commercials correct it's a "functional fitness system".

An free alternative would be CrossFit, www.crossfit.com. Although they don't sell supplements (which you in my mind won't need anyway if you have balanced, regular meals).
