And you're listening to...

Name my radio show, which focuses on electronic music, centered around genres like: idm/braindance or whatever we call it these days, dub, trip-hop, chip music (as in... gameboy's and C64's), aleatoric, grime, dubstep, minimal, electrofunk, deep house and so forth. I would say the primary theme of the show is music that is interesting not only for doing something creative, but for doing it with newly available technology (for it's time). I also have a bias towards music that is rooted in Jazz or other improvisational traditions. Aside from what is decidely artsy-music, there is also a smattering dancable music and mashups deemed clever enough. There is no dance music of the foor-to-the-floor variety though, and it is not primarily a dance show.

My name is Bjorn, if you can think of a witty pun involving that...

Two ideas so far...

Resonant Filter

Funkstörung ("radio interference" in german... used last semester, but too hard to spell, and already in use by a band)

Do you pronounce your name so the "o" sounds like the vowel sound in "corn" or "yearn"?

Response by poster: mdonley: For the purposes of the show, like "corn".

grime, dubstep, minimal, electrofunk, deep house

DOES NOT COMPUTE.

If you're avoiding four-to-the-floor, you could take inspiration from this Autechre release and call your show Flutter.

You could cash in on my celebrity status and call it "Music Craven Doesn't Like."

Response by poster: mkb: With the exception of deep house, there is plenty of music in those genres that do not go four-to-the-floor.

I don't expressly forbid anything like that, it's just less common... I mentioned it mainly to be clear that it's not a eurodance show.

nthing the idea of naming the show after some bit of electronic music terminology.

Inspiration abounds and one of the 1000000 online glossaries for this type of terminology.
