Help me come up with a snappy way to refer to a drummer besides as a "seasoned skin-pounder."

My drummer thinks that sounds like a connoisseur of masturbation. I like it, though.

"indefatigable beater"
"elder statesman of stick-manipulation"

Or maybe just go with "rhythm ace"

"indefatigable beater"
"elder statesman of stick-manipulation"

I think these have the same problem that the drummer identified with "seasoned skin-pounder."

"The Human Metronome"

unless your drummer is really short, in which case you could just call him

"The metrognome."

Now I have the incredible desire to make a gnome bard in D&D or something. Thanks.

if you wanna go for the easy shot of just using another language: baterista inigualable which means "drummer like no other" in Spanish. Or perhaps El Rey del Tambor (The king of drums)
