Epson Perfection 1260 Scanner Software?

Please help me find find software to use with an Epson Perfection 1260 scanner.

A friend has lost the driver disk for her Epson Perfection 1260 scanner. Epson provides a TWAIN driver for download but not the actual scanning applications. Do you know a way to download the scanning software? Softpedia has helped in the past but comes out short here. Otherwise, could you recommend a (preferably free) TWAIN compliant scanning application? I did a cursory search but nothing jumped out.

I believe IrfanView has built-in scan support and it's free.

Yep ifranview will do what you want. I recently used it to scan 5 years worth of photos. Luckily it will do batch scanning!

Response by poster: OS is Windows XP. Thanks for the suggestions of Gimp and Irfanview. I'll pass them along.

If it's TWAIN compliant, I'd be surprised if it can't be used with Windows XP's inbuilt Scanner and Camera Wizard. Open up My Computer when the scanner's switched on, and if the scanner shows up in there, just double-click on it.
