How can I change Firefox so that Shift + Enter turns a URL of "example" into an address of www.example.co.uk rather than www.example.net?

1) type "about:config" in Firefox's URL bar.
2) Look for "browser.fixup.alternate.suffix"
3) Double-click that line, and change ".com" to ".co.uk"
4) Hit OK, and you're good to go!

Best answer: I haven't tried it myself, but this extension looks like it ought to do the trick.

Slater's above mentioned technique will work if you use Ctrl + Enter instead of Shift. :)

Response by poster: The extension mentioned be cerebus19 works perfectly. While slater's technique works, I still (greedily) need Ctrl + Enter to append .com like normal.
