Help identify an awesome blues song sung by two guys. It is performed by two men, the harmony resembles Taj Mahal's Queen Bee (and he may be one of the performers, but I couldn't identify the song by looking at his discography). I remember some of the lyrics...

Lyrics are about a guy who found himself -- using a metaphor of his finding his body parts in different places. Something like (very vague memory):

- I found my eyes in Mississippi
...
- I found my soul at the ocean's bottom

etc. Also, in the song there's a line which is something like
- No I have'nt seen no gun...

It is performed by two men, the harmony resembles Taj Mahal's Queen Bee (and he may be one of the performers, but I couldn't identify the song by looking at his discography).

I love this song, it is so warm, simple and joyful. Lost the CD it was on... I'd love to be able to hear it again.

Thank you!

Best answer: I believe you're thinking of Olu Dara's In the World: From Natchez to New York (Amazon), a fantastic album from a few years back. I think you're conflating two songs, one from it, "Natchez Shopping Blues" (I've been shopping...) with "Strange Things Happen Everyday", (I never saw no gun, man...), which is from the inferior followup album, Neighborhoods. "In the World" is a wonderful album from the former free jazz trumpeter, who is also the father or Nas, the rapper.
