Not Thundarr, but like Thundarr

(70's/80's cartoon filter) - What is the name of this Thundarr-like cartoon?

I recall a cartoon that used to come on around the same era as Thundarr and was very similar in a lot of ways (blown back to the stone age, IIRC), but I cannot for the life of me remember the name. What I remember most was the main character had two sword hilts that attached to the bracers on each wrist. He would remove these hilts, hold them together, and they would 'power up' to some sort of golden lance-like thing.

Help me out here. It's driving me cRaZY.

Thanks!!!
