John Petrucci Guita Solo Riff Origins?

What song is this riff by John Petrucci from?

I have a live recording of an (awesome) guitar solo by John Petrucci of Dream Theater, and about half-way through he plays this very cool-sounding riff that sounds like it's the intro to a song. I'd like to know what that song is.

I've isolated the section and posted this mp3 file (800 kB).

I suspect it is a song because the audience cheers and starts clapping along as soon as they recognize the tune.

It's Track 7 on Disc 2 of the Once in a LIVEtime recording. The previous link says the track is composed mostly of Paradigm Shift and Acid Rain by Liquid Tension Experiment, a Dream Theater spinoff band. However, I heard nothing like it on either of those two songs. Where is the tune from?

Thanks!

Better link. It's from classical music, and I'll guess opera, maybe even from Bizet's Carmen.

Best answer: It's an italian folk song/dance: the tarantella

Response by poster: Yep, that's it. My links worked fine in preview, there was supposed to be a second link to Wikipedia's page on the recording. Thanks, dr. fresh.
