How to get gmail emoticons in the Google Talk client?

Is there any way to get the animated smilies from the Gmail-based Google Talk to show up in the Windows Google Talk client?

If you log into Google Talk as a part of Gmail (inside your web browser), the chats have these really cool animated smilies. If you log into Google Talk using the downloaded Windows client, you don't get the same smilies... instead it just changes the color of your ":)", without any of the animation.

Is there a way (maybe a plugin or hack) to get the web-based smilies to work in the desktop client?

Response by poster: jourman2, that plugin doesn't do what I'm looking for. I don't want tacky bright yellow MSN-style smilies... I just want the ones that are used in the gmail version of google talk.

This website says that they are animated gifs. Perhaps you can download them and create your own emoticon theme?

I can't offer any advice, but I will say that the gmail smileys are so subtle that I thought I was seeing things when I first encountered them. They're also the first ones that I ever didn't hate. I dislike those yellow smileys so much that I usually add a space : ) to avoid them. I suppose I shouldn't use them at all.

I too love the gmail smiles. Just an unsolicited comment.

Not to derail, but most IM clients let you disable the text -> garish image translation.
