April Fools' Day

Does anyone else hate April Fools day? Big corporations get the chance to show how great the sense of humour they haven't got is while every one else gets thier coffee cup glued to thier desk. WTF? Oh well... I'm just grumpy because I want MetaFilter back.

Has anyone every witnessed a really clever/funny fool? (being the one who masterminded the fool automatically disqualifies you from declaring it a good fool...)

I gotta go with twine on this one. I fucking HATE April Fool's pranks.

However, my wife says I was born without a sense of humor.

Maybe she's right.

I think irontom that the people who revel in april fools day are the ones bereft of a little sense of humour, very spontaneous.

Yeah, April fool's is pretty fucking stupid. And, no, never seen a clever or funny April 1 prank.

My best friend in high school once refitted the shower head in his parents' bathroom, so that it pointed out of the shower. When his dad turned on the water in the morning, it shot him right in the face.

It's more mean than funny, but I got a huge kick out of it.

Semi-OT, but I've long had a theory (a hypothesis, not a theory, for you science types) that everyone has at least one holiday they hate. I've expounded on this to a number of people and have yet to find a counter-example.
