In search of a Philadelphia emergency dentist

In search of recommendations for a good emergency Dentist in Philadelphia.

My 63 year old mom has a toothache that she says is progressively moving up the side of her head.

She says that several fillings came out this week while eating chili and she can feel the holes. She also says that it's not infected, but I'm not sure whether or not to believe her. She's been taking advil to quell the pain but it is no longer working.

She's in Philadelphia. I'm weary of just picking up the phone book and randomly picking a dentist so I call on you, Philly MeFites. Can anyone recommend a good emergency Dentist in Philadelphia? What have your experiences been with them?Insurance/Price is not really a concern at this time. Bonus if the Dentist is in Center City/South Philadelphia/or West Philadelphia.

Thanks!

There's Dr. Wallet in Marlton, NJ who I can personally recommend as a super-sensitive caring dentist specializing in fearful patients, which might describe your mother considering the extent of the problem and the fact that she's been killing the pain instead of heading directly for treatment at the first sign of an issue. Marlton is in NJ but quite close to the city if she is at all able to travel within a 30-minute radius. He is the kind of dentist who will sedate patients beyond novacaine and gas where necessary. Hope this helps!

My recommendation isn't in Philadelphia either, but is in close proximity suburbs. These guys are fantastic. The staff is great, the dentists are very accomodating, great bedside manner, good listeners, gentle. They specialize in root canals and oral surgery. I've recommended lots of people to them, and have had work done by Dr Schelkun 3 or 4 times, and each of my kids has had work done by him once or twice. They have 4 locations. I'd give them a try. You should accompany her to the office; if they put her under (which they usually do if the patient is very uncomfortable) someone will have to be there to drive her home afterwards.
