(Realtor filter) Can anyone recommend a realtor for New Jersey (Central-to North Central Jersey that is)?

We're buying our first (and, so, a starter) home!
And, well, I guess a realtor would help. (Even though their reputation as a profession is much worse than I ever thought it was!).

I appreciate any help.

Century 21 is big in central jersey. Look for a branch in some towns, I know there are a good couple of them.

narebuc, my email's in my profile if you want to drop me a line. I've got Realtor relatives in the Princeton area.

We used a buyer's agent, these guys, and were very happy with the service. I really felt our agent was on our side more than a regular agent would have been. She listened to what we wanted and gave us all the attention we needed. And we were definitely not buying anything remotely "luxury".

Even if you're not looking in her territory, a buyer's agent might be a good thing to look into.

IIRC John Kenneth Fisher is a real estate agent in North Jersey.

Response by poster: Thanks for the tips mefites. I will look into the buyer's agent and see what happens (they cover our area well enough it seems). Lyn, if that does not "feel right" I'll be dropping you an email. Thanks so much for offering. I just hope that we'll be able to see offerings in our price range and simply not get into politics or allegiances. A home is one of the most important purchases you can make. I'm glad to see a service is out there that just might want to help you.
