Hands on robot tinkering in London?

(London, UK Filter) I am trying to find somewhere in London that might have a hands on program/session to do with electronics/robots/building.

One of my students (aged 13) is a keen technologist, and his mother has asked if I can help find some hands-on activities in London that she can take him to in order to help fuel his passion. Text from mum below:

"I am trying to find somewhere in London that might have a hands on program/session to do with electronics/robots/building/all the sorts of things (he) loves to tinker with! Do you know of anywhere or somewhere I could go to find out please?"

Apart from the Science Museum, I know that there's some exhibit happening at County Hall, but can't find any more info on it. Any ideas, down to workshops and kit-building communities are welcome.

Any teachers who teach robotics to middle school kids (ages 11-15) are also more than welcome to weigh in with resources they've used.

This thread yesterday talks about the FIRST program. This student would fall into the FIRST Lego League age range (for middle schoolers). FLL is a HUGE program... there's bound to be a team nearby that he can join. Look here for more info.
